Mountain Wines:  A GIRL GROWS UP ON MOUNT EDEN

an exhibition of poetry and photography by Ronald Philip Tanaka

Lower vineyards i sometimes hate our vineyards
on those hot, dusty summer

afternoons when the sky is blue
and the sun is always so high

overhead. they look so boring
row after row of green covering

the hills in their neat little trellises
and the absolutely killer heat!

but i suppose i'm still too young
to understand - unimpressed

by elegant dinners and waiters
in stiff white coats, carrying our

wines in their suntanned hands
and smiling - always smiling.
