Saratoga Cuvée Pinot Noir 2008

Tasting Notes

Release Date: Spring 2011

Explosive aromas of cherry, plum, sage and loamy earth combine with layered flavors of soft red fruit, strawberry, and cherry again an earth tone complexity. Medium to full body with an elegant structure and texture that is typical of our style.

A non-interventionist mode in the cellar was fully employed. All of the fermentations were native with no fining or filtration prior to bottling. Respect for the Santa Cruz Mountains terroir is essential. Viticulturally, this vintage comes from three sources: Lone Madrone (Woodside), Mount Eden (Saratoga) and Hawk’s Hill (Santa Cruz). Coincidentally each of these vineyards reflects the north, middle and south areas of our appellation.
