The 1993 is a bit of a departure from our typical style. Full of finesse with abundant spice, there is a seductive drinkability in its personality. Working the past six years with fruit exposure and canopy manipulation has given our Pinot Noir more transparency as well as more high-toned fruit. The nose displays bright strawberry-raspberry flavors with a hint of anise and dill, which expands on the palate. Mount Eden Pinot Noir tends to “grow” in the bottle and gain in weight and intensity so I expect a beautiful development over the next two to five years.
