Tasting Notes

Release Date: Winter/Spring 2008

Our home, the Santa Cruz Mountains, is our winemaking raison d’ être, almost everything we produce comes from here, including this Cabernet Blend; composed of six separate vineyards in our appellation. All these sites are small and meticulously farmed, either by the owners or by us. During harvest, sometimes I question my sanity when our cellars are overflowing with dozens of micro fermentations, but when it all comes together, as with this 2004, it all seems worthwhile.

2004 was a warm year, and we are in a cool area; this often leads to a successful vintage. This wine offers generous black cherry and currant fruit along with striking minerality. Intense and long in the finish you can expect positive evolution of this wine for the next four to five years.

The entire Bordeaux family of grapes makes up this years blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 8% Cabernet France, 3% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot.

Drinking well now, it will continue to evolve for another five years.
