Tasting Notes

Release Date: Fall 2008

With the current vogue of California Pinot Noir being concentrated syrup, Mount Eden takes a different approach. Terroir expression, delicacy, varietal purity and ageablity are what we strive for.

2006 is a three vineyard composite from the north (Woodside), middle (Mount Eden) and southern (Santa Cruz) areas of our Santa Cruz Mountain appellation. All of them are cool, low yielding sites with near perfect farming techniques.

Fresh and complex in the nose with blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and baking spices, the flavors on the palate are concentrated and suave echoing the aromas. Evident tannins in the finish suggest many years of development in the bottle.

This wine is a beautiful representation of our great appellation, the Santa Cruz Mountains.
