Tasting Notes

Release Date: Fall 2006

This wine is the last released from the fantastic 2002 vintage. This wine is a blend from five mature, low yielding, family owned vineyards located in and around our town of Saratoga.

We started this wine back in 1999 with the idea of providing a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon blend (15% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc) that displays our unique regional terroir. It is kind of a complement to our single vineyard Estate Cabernet which has been produced since the 1950s.

Its opening aromas of fresh cream and cassis have along with it hints of briar, licorice, dried herbs and sweet cherries. Although full and fat on the palate with power and concentration, this wine still retains a sense of elegance and the balance is intact.

Yet to plateau, this vintage should provide drinking pleasure over the next ten years.
